Shehbaz, Tamim Discuss Regional Stability
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Ameer, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his official visit to Doha, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening strategic ties.
According to an official statement, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as well as Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The high-level engagement underscored the importance Islamabad places on its relationship with Doha.
Shehbaz Meets Qatari Ameer in Doha
The statement noted that the two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of all aspects of bilateral relations. They reiterated their shared resolve to further solidify the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar and emphasized expanding collaboration across areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, and defense cooperation.
The Ameer of Qatar reaffirmed his country’s commitment to elevating economic cooperation with Pakistan to a higher strategic level. Both sides highlighted the need to explore new avenues for partnership and to enhance institutional linkages aimed at promoting sustainable growth and prosperity.

Prime Minister Sharif also held a separate meeting with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, where discussions focused on strengthening defense collaboration and exchanging views on evolving regional security dynamics.
In addition to bilateral matters, the leaders discussed key regional and international developments. Particular attention was given to the situations in Iran and Afghanistan, reflecting the shared interest of both countries in regional stability. They underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution of conflicts as guiding principles for addressing contemporary challenges.
Qatari Ameer Accepts Visit to Pakistan
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and consultations on major regional issues, reaffirming their commitment to working together in multilateral forums and diplomatic platforms.
During the meeting, the Qatari Ameer accepted Prime Minister Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan. According to the statement, the visit is expected to take place later this year, signaling continued high-level engagement between the two countries.
