Zabihullah Mujahid Urges Dialogue With Pakistan
Within 24 hours of escalating tensions with Pakistan, Afghanistan’s Taliban regime began calling for negotiations.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said at a news conference that Afghanistan has previously sought talks with Pakistan for the sake of peace and, in the context of the ongoing fighting, believes that dialogue remains the only path to resolving the dispute.

Taliban Calls for Talks Within 24 Hours
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s minister of state for foreign affairs.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion focused on ways to reduce tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and to promote peace and stability in the region.
Afghan Foreign Minister Contacts Qatari Counterpart
A statement issued by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the acting Afghan foreign minister contacted the Qatari minister of state for foreign affairs by phone.

The ministry said the call included an exchange of views on mechanisms to ease Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions and enhance regional peace and stability.
