Pakistan Backs Colombia’s Security Drive, Urges Sustained Momentum in Peace Process
Pakistan has reaffirmed its strong support for Colombia’s efforts to укреп strengthen national security and advance lasting peace, emphasizing the importance of sustained international cooperation in the country’s peacebuilding process.
Speaking at a United Nations Security Council briefing on Colombia, Pakistan’s Acting Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, expressed Islamabad’s full backing of the Colombian government’s initiatives to consolidate security and stability.
He commended the work of the UN Verification Mission in Colombia, praising its role in supporting the implementation of the Peace Agreement, particularly through its on-ground presence carried out under the mandate authorized by the Security Council. Ambassador Jadoon described the mission as a critical pillar in maintaining momentum toward reconciliation and long-term stability.
The Pakistani envoy urged all stakeholders to remain committed to the peace process, calling for the full, sustainable, and integrated implementation of the Peace Agreement. He stressed that continued cooperation and commitment were essential to transforming the vision of peace and hope into a concrete and lasting reality for the Colombian people.
Pakistan’s remarks reflected its broader diplomatic stance in support of multilateral peace efforts and UN-led missions aimed at conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction.
