Pentagon Plans Major Middle East Deployment, Iran Expected to Respond
US officials claim that the United States Armed Forces is preparing for a sustained and extensive operation against Iran.
In an interview with a British news agency, two US officials said the planned campaign poses greater risks for American forces and the wider Middle East, noting that the operational planning this time is more complex.
Officials stated that the United States intends to target not only Iran’s nuclear infrastructure but also state and security installations, anticipating that Tehran will retaliate.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that any US strike would be met with attacks on American military bases. Media reports indicate that the United States maintains bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, and Turkey.

According to reports, the Pentagon is deploying another aircraft carrier to the Middle East, along with thousands of troops, warplanes, and guided-missile destroyers.
Experts warn that such an operation carries significant risks for US forces, given Iran’s advanced missile arsenal, and could escalate into a wider regional conflict.
At the same time, Iran has expressed readiness to discuss limiting its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
US President Donald Trump said that negotiating with Iran has been difficult, noting that sometimes “showing strength” is necessary to manage the situation. A White House spokesperson added that the president is considering all available options regarding Iran, listens to multiple viewpoints, and makes final decisions based on what best serves national security and the country’s interests.
