He called for increased engagement between Hainan-based enterprises and Pakistan’s industrial and export sectors to bolster trade volumes. Specifically, the President expressed interest in expanding cooperation in port development, seed technology, and fisheries. He noted that the centuries-old interaction between Pakistani and Chinese civilizations provides a solid foundation for both countries to continue developing and prospering together in the modern era.

Promoting People-to-People Contacts and Cultural Exchange Initiatives

The importance of people-to-people contacts was a primary focus of the discussion, with the President citing the participation of Pakistani athletes in the Sixth Asian Beach Games in Sanya as a positive development. Secretary Feng Fei echoed these sentiments, noting that more than 500 Pakistani students are currently enrolled in universities across Hainan. Notably, trade between Pakistan and Hainan nearly doubled during this same period. Secretary Feng also mentioned that Hainan hosts China’s largest seed breeding laboratory, which utilizes biotechnology and artificial intelligence, offering significant potential for agricultural cooperation with Pakistan.

The two sides concluded the meeting by exchanging views on regional and international developments, reaffirming a shared commitment to peace, stability, and dialogue. The Pakistani delegation included Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Sindh Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, and other senior officials.
